API Bug: map.center equal open infoWindow anchor?
Hi all,
Back in August there was a forum posting about a possible bug in the
API. Here's the link:
http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Maps-API/browse_thread/thread/60013042b301b8c1/ecae41edd6a55cdf?q=center%20marker%20info%20window%20open&rnum=23&
In short, if a marker's infoWindow is open, then "map.center" returns
NOT the map's center as it should, but instead it returns the point
representing the anchor of the infoWindow (in a typical case, this is
the marker location point to which the infoWindow is attached).
A simple example is to use the Google API Example for event listeners (
http://www.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/#Event_Listeners ) and
put a marker on it with an infoWindow. If the infoWindow is open, the
map.center posted is the marker location, not the map center.
Does anyone have any workaround for this? That is, while the
infoWindow is open, how does one find the map.center? Better yet, does
anyone at Google know about this bug, and is it scheduled to be fixed?
Or even, can someone straighten me out and let me know that this is
not really a bug and I'm just being silly? Thanks.
