Dropped from google after signing up for sitemaps

I recently added a site to the sitemap section of google.
The site was crawled and verified. A week later it was dropped from the
google index.
It is fine in Yahoo and MSN. I don't use any underhanded tactics, it's
actually a very basic site.

Anybody have a similar problem or have an idea of the cause.
