GDS not indexing gmail

It seems that GDS wont index my gmail account. I've verified several
times that my password is correct, that the indexing master switch is
on, and whatever I could think of.
I opened the index status page, and it said 4761 mails indexed, I left
the computer for an hour or so, and when I updated the page it still
said 4761, and GDS's network indicator showed no traces of activity. I
know I have way more messages than 4761. And the GDS sidebar still says
it's indexing.
One theory is that my firewall, Zone Alarm is the cause of the problem.
Has anybody successfully used GDS's gmail indexing with this firewall?
I'm comfortable with with ZA. I'm reluctant to turn the firewall off,
considering what a bughole windows is.
