How to tell which cell provider I should route my SMS to ???

My objective is to send an e-mail message to a cell phone using SMS.

My problem is that I don't know WHICH CELL PHONE SERVICE PROVIDER
corresponds with the phone number. Therefore I don't know WHICH PREFIX
to use, i.e. for Verizon, Sprint, Singular, etc !!!???
