Thank you Otavio. So kind of you to reply.

When I am at my office, the messages go into MS Outlook on hard drive
at my office. When I am away from my office (now), the only way to
access the Google Group messages is to go to groups.google.com.
So, I wish I could arrange the messages purely chronologically within
groups.google.com -------- instead of what is apparently by thread and
only by thread.
