RE: Does anyone know?

Hi Jean,

What John says.

And I think you should take out all of the links that aren't natural or
contextual. Websites are no different than brick and mortar businesses.
You shouldn't expect to walk into a coffee shop and have the people
behind the counter interrupt your purchase to tell you about a
roller-skating rink or their new Honda. Would you include an article in
the middle of a real estate site about changing the oil in your car? Of
course not.

This is what links are. They're an extension of the content to your site
and should be used that way. Don't abuse your visitors by using linking
schemes or reciprocal link-shares for the sake of increasing search
engine placement or pagerank. If anything, this will have a negative
effect on engines (they're smarter than you think about this stuff) and
will disappoint your users who actually look through them. After all,
your site is supposed to be for THEM not for search engines.
