city selection algorithm
The city name selection algorithm for some scales could use
improvement, to make Google Maps more useful for travel planning. At
present, on scales of,say, 8 or 9 from the minus end, names of major
cities can be omitted. A good example is Connecticut, where no cities
in the top dozen by population appear but some smaller ones do. The
problem may be that route numbers are displacing city names.
