[Gmail-Lounge] Re: Got a question about Harry Potter books.
if i cant undertand something there's no point in reading it. Im not going to go to an extra effort just to "preserve the language." Just face it; language is dynamic. We dont try tu understand old english, why should we make an exception for british english?

OK wrong word. Let's look at in another way it's not Italian it's
English, so what hope do we have of understanding people from other
lands if we can not understand English. We should all make the effort
to understand others as they are, not try to convert them into us
(pardon the small pun). We all come from different places and part of
being a traveler, be it in an arm chair or on the road, are
experiencing different ways of life. The style of writing the Harry
Potter books are written in is just that any thing else is not Harry
Potter. If you have difficulty with some of the words add a glossary,
don't change the book!
