Groove - a collaboration tool without find functionality

I have started work with some folks that use the collaboration tool
Groove, from Groove Networks Inc. To be fair it's a reasonably neat
peer-to-peer solution for collaboration, but it lack one SIGNIFICANT
feature - any form or find functionality.

Is there anyone out there that has looked into creating a plug-in that
will index the source file that Groove copies all documents into?
