Hi IT programmer,

 

I am struggling with my website. as I am not a IT programmer. but i need to create a website for my data collection through the internet. Any one can help me to write the applet, I will be very appreciated and will be happy to pay some for your times and help if you require to.

 

the applet I want to display in my website including the following functions:

 

1. spraycan tool for drawing map: there are 3 levels of spraycan: small, medium and large. people can choose one of them to start their drawing.

2. wipe button: to clear what people have drawn. there are 2 levels of wipe: clear all and clear the last spray.

3. help button, when you click on it it will appear a box to guide you how to use this tool.

4. Give a comment and answer some questions

5. send

6. Demo

7. View other maps and comments

 

Requirements: how the web looks like.

 

1-the website just display all functions above said in one screen with the map on the left side and the comments on the right side of the screen. The purpose of displaying map and comment at the same page is that it helps people can look at their map and write down their comments.

 

2. How the map display on the screen: this map is 1200 rows and 1200 columns (any format: gif. tif or jpg). but it just display on the screen with 600x600 row & col. that means some areas out side of a map can not be seen (from row 601and column 601 forwards will be out of the frame). However, I can drag the map around to view the edge. look like google map, but no need to zoom in and out, just 1 level. This is important, because I will use this map as a based map for people drawing on it, with exactly coordinate.

 

3. the spray can . you can refer to this website. it is similar to my work, but i need extra functions.

this site allow you to download and install their applet. so you just modify some on it. no need to start from scratch.

 

4. in the comments box, i need to add some questions on it - like a questionnaire. people will answer by typing in the textbox or select one of the option given in a dropdown box.

5. Send all button: after they draw and give their comments, all this information will be send to the server with 2 files: 1 files in terms of map format and other file in terms of text. however, 2 files with the same people will be store with the same name, just different format. and the name will be automatic given by machine ( e.g. the first person draw his/her map will be stored at 1.gif and 1.txt; second people will be 2.gif and 2.txt. and so on).

6. help button: just simply click on it, it will display a box ( not a link) to tell people how to draw a map.

7. Demo: look like to embed a slide show to show how this sytem work, guide step by step by graphic on how to map their map.

8. View other comments: simmilar to the website above http://www.ccg.leeds.ac.uk/software/tagger/bin/taggerQuery.html. (clicking on the map, it will display how many percentages people agree to choose).
