[lug] Symbolic Links
I found a small problem in OpenOffice.org2. In the vesion you get
with Kubuntu, it looks for a file called libhsqldb2 in
/usr/lib/openoffice2/program, however, the file is named libhsqldb2.so
- a small problem. I researched the problem, and found that if I
create a symbolic link called libhsqldb2 pointing to libhsqldb2.so it
should work - however, then I run into the real problem: how do I
create a symbolic link?
I know this sounds rather trivial, however, I tried. I created a
desktop shortcut to it and then tried to move that to the appropriate
directory, however, that didn't work too well since it turned out to
be a .desktop file! So I tried removing the .desktop part (so the
file still reads <file:///usr/lib/openoffice2/program/libhsqldb2.so>or
something like that) but that didn't work.
I don't know how to create one of these symbolic links, however, I'm
sure someone here knows how, so if anyone wouldn't mind telling me
how, that'd be really great.
