Uh, I don't know if it matters, but my xml sitemap has this at the
start (before the first <url> ), which is somewhat different from
yours:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<urlset xmlns="http://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap/0.84"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap/0.84
http://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap/0.84/sitemap.xsd">

Also, and this may be more significant, this results in a 404:
http://shopper-discounts.com/wine-and-cheese/category/ - but first it
seems to get redirected somehow.
