Re: How to identify, address map tiles in main maps window ?

One way to identify the tile images is to use Firefox and use right-
click (off the map, because the API grabs the click event over the map)
then choose View Page Info and select the tab labelled "Media".

The entries that look something like
http://mt1.google.com/mt?v=w2.7&n=404&x=20967&y=50654&zoom=0
are the map tiles.

They're just images, so you could manipulate them in Javascript, if it
wasn't for the fact that directly accessing the underlying map data is
contrary to the Terms of Use.

Google change the location of the image tiles from time to time. Many of
the old tile sets are still in the old locations, but don't rely on that
always being the case.

All tiles are 256x256 pixels.
