So basically, take the pages that have come up as 404, and have G
remove them? In the "remove" page they claim dead links disappear
anyway. Still, I have to wonder ...

Also, the possibility of my site being dropped from Google is a risk I
cannot take. While I'm working on changing how things are, at the
moment, we're heavily dependent on Google. Not proud of it, just
stating the facts.
