[Gmail-Users] Problem with POP

Hi,

I've a problem with pop access on gmail, I'm intending to use gmail as
a pop mail server that I can occasionally use web mail for when
necessary.

After enabling pop (the same thing happens whether "enabling pop for
all mail" or just for "mail that arrives from now on") I can download
mail to my mail client (Thunderbird 1.0.7) with no problem BUT any mail
that arrives after this does not get downloaded.

When I look at my "Forwarding and POP" settings I see it then says:

"1. Status: POP is enabled for all mail that has arrived since 18:20"

But the 18:20 is the current time, if I look 5 mins later it has
updated this to:

"1. Status: POP is enabled for all mail that has arrived since 18:25"

even though I haven't touched the settings. Whenever I check the
message always says:

"1. Status: POP is enabled for all mail that has arrived since INSERT
THE CURRENT TIME"

If I then manually tell it to enable all mail (whichever version) I can
again download the mail with no problems, but after that I'm faced with
the same problem.

Note that I have set "2. When messages are accessed with POP" with
"Delete Google Mail's copy".

What's going on? How should I set the settings to get around this?

Many Thanks.
