[Google-Desktop] Cannot search www.google.com when Google Desktop is enabled

When Google Desktop is enabled on my machine, I can no longer search
www.google.com. I can't even navigate to google.com. As soon as I
kill Google Desktop, everything works again. Has anybody had this
problem? Is there a fix?
