How can I let users plot a course to a specified location?

On my website I have different events that I want users to be able to
plot a course to using the Google Maps API.

Example:
- Group activity at [insertlocation] !
- [google map that has a marker for the location]

The user would then be able to enter in their address and get a route
to that destination on the map.

I have tried researching but have not been successful so far. Any help
would be appreciated.
