MUST Be Able to "Mark as Read"

Google does many things well. The Google Reader has a major flaw. The
inability to be able to "mark as read".

To have to scroll through each headline to mark an article as read is
just way to time consuming. Imagine the time this takes someone with a
slow internet connection. Not everyone is on a T1.
