Re: Google not indexed since site map? consider this

"""Read what Google's been up to just recently and you'll see plenty of

reasons for massive changes on some sites - better duplicate detection,

for one thing"""

That doesn't mean anything really but it does re-enforces my point that
webmasters are now the puppets of google.

My classifieds site has no links from link farms, no mirror sites, has
no duplicate pages or content and ALL non important pages have
NOINDEX,FOLLOW tags in the header. I have used the gsitecrawler and the
only pages that it lists are ads and 5 other pages including the index
page.

Google spiders all the pages but only indexes and caches the index
page. occasionaly when I check "pages from the site" I get the 5 pages
for a few hours then they disappear. NEVER are any ads indexed at all
even though they are spidered at least once a week.

THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED SINCE WE SUBMITTED A SITEMAP

I contrast up until we submitted a sitemap we where spidered, cached
and indexed normaly and got reasonable positions. Just to say its a
problem with the site (no other search engine does have a problem)
isn't satifactory without indicating what the problem is. Seeing as we
have voluntarily committed ritual commercial suicide by submitting
sitemaps I think google owes it to us to give that indication in the
sitemap statistics. This would benefit google by

1) Removing paranoia as to what the cause is by showing how to correct
the issue

2) Reduce the bandwidth used in these forums by 98%

3) Letting people get back to talking about world issues or at least
the price of beer
