Re: New website - Help me!

> I have been assigned to increase the search ranking of this website in google search results www.chemistaustralia.com.au I have only amateur knowledge of IT and web etc. So please keep it simple...

If it's really "Australia's largest e-chemist" then I'm very surprised
it can't afford a trained professional.

The code on the home page is a disaster and someone deserves to have
their secret coder ring taken away. It's essentially unstructured and
uncommented.

a) Ditch the "keywords" metatag. It does no good these days.

b) You have to dramatically reduce the ration of HTML to actual text on
the page. Think about 80%. Style sheets would be a VERY good idea,
but if you're an amateur programmer that's a steep hill to climb. If
you can ditch as much scripting as possible, that's good too.

c) You need to increase the amount of narrative text - think of at
least doubling each product description with sensible text.

d) You have detailed product information buried deep in code. This is
a maintenance NIGHTMARE.

KISS is still a good maxim.
