If you correctly read back the variable you will see that it does change
to 20.

If you're seeing 10, it probably means that you've got function closure
in the code that reads it back.

If you give us a link to a page that demonstrates the problem, we can
see what you're doing wrong. Without seeing the whole of your code, it's
not possible to give any more detail about what you're doing wrong.
