"Cool Tool Tip" possible?
I've been all over mapki, mike williams tutorials, geocodezip.com,
pdmarker, tlabel, and these threads and I am aware that the mouseover
listener is the way to go to pop up an infowindow but I am still trying
to get my favorite javascript tooltip function to work on markers.
Javascript is not my best language, can any gurus tell me whether this
"Cool Tool Tip" function can, or for sure cannot, work with Google
Maps?
Here is a link to the free tooltip:
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex5/dhtmltooltip.htm
The unique value of this tooltip is that you can put any html inside of
it. It also regards the top, bottom, left and right limits of the
screen and then pops the tooltip up in the open area of the screen. It
is much less of an eyesore to have the tooltip pop-up in the open area
rather than having the map recenter to show the infowindow. I could
settle for the infowindow and its map-recentering, if I could just have
a unique differentiated design for the infowindow.
In sum my two questions:
1. Can "Cool Tool Tip" work with Google Maps?
2. Is there any realistic way to have a custom design for the
infowindow?
-realistic meaning that I am not reworking the api...
Thanks for any feedback,
charlie
