Just my observations. I have had a few upload errors on large files.
If you delete the files from the upload application and then put it
back in and restart it, it will usually pick right up where it left
off. Doesn't need to start over from the begining. Might have to do
that a couple of times on big files (200-300mb)

I use Quicktime Pro to do my conversion to Mpeg4. Think I paid $20 or
$30 but it gives you lots of export options. Lets you use the H.264
codec.
