OK, go to <START> <PROGRAMS> <STARTUP> and remove the "Run Google Web
Acceleraor>. Reboot your close down the Accelerator prior to that
operation. Now reboot your computer and the Accelerator should not be
running. If you are unable to shut it down manually, do the three finger
salute <CTRL><ALT><DEL> and right click on the Accelerator process and
click 'kill process tree'.
Assuming that your computer rebooted correctly, see if there is any
listing in the add/remove listings in control panel for the Accelerator.
If so, run it. If not, navigate to C:\Program Files\Google. Inside that
folder there should be a folder for the accelerator. Rename the
C:\Program Files\Google folder to Google-STOP.
Now download a copy of jv16 PowerTools 2005 available at:
http://www.macecraft.com/. It has a free period that you can use if for.
Install the program and let it update itself when it asks for your
permission. Next, click on the Reg Cleaner function near the left side
of the main screen. Make sure aggressive is checked. All of the other
boxes should be checked by default. Click START. The process will take a
few minutes. When it completes click SELECT at the top of the screen.
Click ALL then click FIX at bottom right of screen. Supply a name for
the backup up file, I usually use the date, and click OK. The program
will remove the useless data for the Accelerator as well as other junk
that has accumulated on your system.
Now reboot your system again, and everything should be just fine.
