Can't Get Google to Find Sitemap OR Verification File

Hi everyone!

At the risk of re-hashing old problems, I would like to ask for help on
a problem brought up by Simon Norberg on Nov 20th, 2005. I have tried
to trace the thread, but cannot find any info on a solution. (I also
e-mailed Mr. Norberg a few days ago, but have not yet received a
response.)

Here's the problem:
I tried to verify my site and use "Add a Sitemap" but I always get "NOT
VERIFIED
We couldn't find your verification file." for the verification and with
Add a Sitemap I get "We
couldn't find the Sitemap at the location you provided. Please make
sure the Sitemap URL is correct and resubmit your Sitemap." I can bring
the items in question
up easily by pasting the link in my browser for both the sitemaps at
http://www.madmoose.com/sitemap.txt (a simple text URL list in UTF-8)
or my Google-recommended 3rd party generated .xml site map at
http://www.madmoose.com/sitemap.xml, as well as accessing the google
verification file
(http://www.madmoose.com/google8147bce6f318ba97.html) by simply pasting
the URL in the browser, so I know they are all there and accessible.
Since I cannot get Google to see either page where they actually are,
it makes me think there is something on my server (supremeserver21.com)
or site hierarchy that is preventing Google from seeing the files. I
changed servers in April, and all properly indexed pages still cached
with Google apperar to be from before that date. Does anyone have any
ideas, or possibly remember how the original post by Mr. Norberg was
resolved? Please advise. Thanks!
