I'll make it short, as we're going in circles -- and I only allow booze to
drive me in circles. I don't host myself, I use a cheap hosting plan on
dreamhost--I've happily hosted with them since '01 -- I used them from
98-2000 as well, with a year hiatus in the middle. I've experimented with
others while using them but always stick with them.
That said, if you want to play a little game, I'd be more than happy to
give you a free fully-hosted subdomain to see if you can scare me --
htaccess rights sufficient to make .txt files executable, mod_rewrite to
your heart's content, php5 and mysql (though unless you ask, I don't have
any databases set up for you)
If you'd like to toy around with it, let me know -- I'll e-mail you the ftp
info. I suppose we could make it even more interesting, I could give you
shell access. You put my data at gun point (don't pull the trigger!) I'll
concede. ;)
