I personally find this to be a serious liability for the GMail program.
I have also discovered that there is no "redirect" function either.
Both of these features are employed by most high quality MUA's. I
believe it would behoove Google to consider their implementation into
there mail system.

Your post is incorrect; I have just forwarded a selection of messages as attachments from KMail and they showed up fine.

However, I do think that the lack of support for OpenPGP keys is a flaw, as many MUAs have a option to automatically encrypt or sign messages to certain addresses (that the key is known for), and many messages are unintelligible that have been signed.
