I still don't see why everyone seems to want this clickable To: field.  It really isn't that hard to start typing the contacts name.  I still say it's faster than selecting each contact individually.

Wow, is it just me or is that horribly clumsy? Hard to believe Google
and Gmail sees a slapped together work around as good programming.

That is not Google's solution to the mailing list.  It is simply what users have come up with.  I'm sure Google is working on a real mailing list feature.
