Re: Google Links
> Just because an inbound link doesn't appear in link: searches, that
does not mean Google doesn't know it.
What rubbish.
OK - let's do it on foot.
Two sites: http://www.tech-news.com and http://www.isham-research.co.uk
The first is Hesh Wiener's (Technology News of America) and the second
is mine (Isham Research). Very similar sites, sharing a market segment
and operated by people who've known each other and been in the business
several decades.
Very similar content, too. Addressing a small market sector. Linking
to each other, as we do to many other sites in the same business. I
even link to my main competitors - see
http://www.isham-research.co.uk/links.html
Do the link:www.tech-news.com search for Hesh's site and you get 400+
inbound links. Do it for mine and you get one. ONE!
The only possiblle explanantion is some kind of explicit and deliberate
action on Google's part. I just cannot see what grounds they might
have.
If, by the way, you take the trouble to go to Google's discussion of
the link: search option and click on the example, it displays something
like 3,750,000 sites that link to Google (which I find a credible
number) and you can display, it would appear, all of them.
