Re: MapServer and GMaps
Hi Kyle,
Yes, we are on the same path!
The imagery from
http://www.brest-metropole-oceane.fr/vueduciel/carroyage-orthophoto.html
seems to be in Plate Carrée projection too. It´s common in orthophoto
imagery.
I had the same problem.
It´s seems that the resolution are missing in your map file.
Mapserver need it to know necessarily how to reproject the image
and show the tile.
In google earth, source images with plate carrée projection are
the best. Because GE, reproject then on-the-fly!
But, in gmaps, the mercartor is the best...
Back to our problem, i think that we need to find a way to
reproject the image from plate carrée projection to mercator in
mapserver on the fly.
I found two tools that can do it offline:
- Geographic Transformer from www.bluemarblegeo.com
- TatukGis from www.tatukgis.com
Using this, mapserver don't need to reproject anything.
Best Regards,
Luiz Vaz
