When I click on the map you are doing multiple calls for the xml data
from your server. I think this is confusing the GMap engine.

it pops up the alert "processing 2 markers" twice for each click. You
keep adding markers, but never remove them...

A zoom doesn't seem to result in a request for xml data, the error is
being generated in the zoom processing. You may want to look at the
Javascript console in firefox or opera to figure out what is going on
(I only have access to IE at the moment).
