Re: Sidebar is blank

I've now had this happen at least 4 times. Each time, the only thing
that works is to uninstall, delete all the left-over files (including
the index), and then reinstall.

The newer version doesn't help.

When the problem happens, here's the symtoms:
* You still have a system tray icon; the right-click menu works fine;
the deskbar or floating deskbar still work.

* If you select the Sidebar, you have a white rectange on your screen,
with the top bar ("Google", a down arrow and a _), and the search box
on the bottom. The rest is completely blank. (In other words,
everything is there except the actual panels.) Clicking on the blank
space does nothing.

* If you click the Menu button and choose Add/Remove Panels..., the
dialog comes up, but the listbox that usually shows the default plugins
(Email, Maps, News, etc...) is completely blank / empty

* If you minimize the sidebar and restore it, when the sidebar is
working properly, you will see the Google Desktop swirl icon flash
briefly with a message saying "Loading...". That doesn't happen when
the sidebar is broken -- it comes up blank and stays that way.

I guess I'll take some screenshots the next time it happens.

Ben
