Re: Site no longer indexed

I feel for you! I made a couple posts and created a couple of topics
regarding this already in this Group. Google does not come out right
and post this before you use the "Beta" sitemap. The problem lays in
something called Jagger, and with duplicate content scoring.

You can have only one URL and one URL alone for referencing specific
pages. This has had a negative impact on sites using Web Application
with parameters passing in the string.

I have been in the middle of revamping some websites slowly using WEB
2.0 methods, and serving up well structured hiearchical menu's for BOTS
and old browsers which do not support scripting.

If you allow people to reuse the content of your site. i.e. If you are
a company which manufactures Widgets and you allow Resellers to use the
same marketing copy as your website, you may be subject to having your
site nuked off the searchable index as well...

Personally, I can understand why Google has done what they did..
however, this now opens up another can of worms. Somebody can HACK
your site off the searchable index by copying the content of your pages
and posting it elseware...

IF SOMEBODY from GOOGLE is reading this!! You should Allow for one page
to be the Dominate Page in the search index and can the REST.. instead
of Canning all the pages in a given domain. Also, be prepared to deal
more and more with people complaining about copyright infringements...
