Re: Website not being indexed...

"From previous years" -- then your domain is old and trusted, that's a
completely different matter. If you put up +/- anything now on a new
domain, it will either take 6-12 months or you will need to get inbound
links. There's no other way. Google does not read the content and think
"oh, this is interesting, I'll tell all my friends" - Google doesn't
even crawl the website until enough links are there. It might pick up
the starting page (domain root) from a sitemap file, but it often drops
it again after a while if no links are found.

Trust me, we tested this exact behaviour just a few months ago :-) (
http://seside.net/ ). And even if you think you don't have any links,
you will often have them. If your content is good enough for you to
publish, then perhaps other people will think it's good enough to pass
on to friends. (I always thought that was the idea :-))

You can see the same behaviour in spammer-sites - you've certainly seen
those links being posted in forums and as comments on blogs: they
aren't there to trick people into clicking them, they're just there to
collect more links to the spammer sites so that they get listed faster
and higher.... :-(

Cheers
John
