Sitemap found, then not ?

I keep having this error. I resubmit my sitemap, google finds it. Then
a few days pass, and suddenlyI have "Not found" error, and I need to
resubmit it again.

Why does this keep happening ? I have no timeout problems or outages on
my server ...
