Has it occurred to you that your company is blocking GMail, and probably
other sites such as porn, etc. because they expect you to be doing
corporate work on corporate time since that is what they are paying you
for?
This is not some fear of GMail as you sarcastically allude to, although
there is always the possibility that you could unleash a virus or trojan
into the corporate network. Rather, they are blocking these sites
because they are not included in your job description. What is so
difficult about that to comprehend? Do you have any idea how many
millions of dollars are wasted every year on employees using company
time for personal use? I worked for a group that hunted down corporate
leaches, usually by the use of key-loggers, but there are other methods,
catching them red handed and them having them either demoted or fired.
If you want to play games, do it on your own time; not your company's.
