[Google-Desktop] Restricting searches to a single directory

Hello,

I've only started looking a google desktop today but it looks really
great. I'm trying to help a history researcher search through their
notes on various topics as easily as possible. Their notes will ideally
be stored in a single directory. I was wondering if there was an easy
way to restrict google desktop to a single directory without having go
through preferences and restrict the search of all the uninteresting
directories individually? The person I'm trying to help would also
like to be able to view maps of areas of interest relevant to his
searches. Does the google maps plug-in support such functionality.
