New Feed - Store Disappears!

I read in this forum that:

You must upload a new feed at least once a month.

If your store/products are online and you upload a new feed, the old
feed (and your products) stay online until the new feed is processed
and then updated. (Makes sense!)

My first feed uploaded fine, no errors, a day later my store/products
were
online.

I've just uploaded my second feed (a week later). 2 days later, no
errors, outcome = success BUT my store nor any products are online.
Totally AWOL.

Also, # of items processed/succeeded/active is correct.

So why is it not still online? Any ideas?

Do you run the risk of your products going off line everytime you
upload a new feed?
