No, that was just the simple illustration. Actually, the array was
part of an XML tree. I started with Mike Williams' excellent lesson on
adding features from an XML file. Once I got a list of three the way I
liked it, I wanted to put it in two columns so I could make the list
much longer.

Since ALL FIVE of the browsers I have on the Mac did not work with
splice, I came up with a solution that I now think is better: The XML
defines whether there are no points, one point, or more than one. If
anyone wants to borrow that approach, feel free. Mike, if you think
it's worth a tutorial, have at it. I'm sure you'll know far better
ways to do the Javascript side. (Like
eliminating the duplicate code)
