[Gmail-Users] too much spam

how come i am getting alot of spam in my spam folder? I want to block
spam for comming through to my gmail account. In my yahoo and hotmail
and cox email i can just delet spam befor it has arrived but i dont see
anything in gmail like that. Spam messenges took 11mb from my account.
