[Google-Desktop] Re: Google Desktop is unable to connect to Gmail

Hi, Cathy. The answer has to be that I'm not sure! But I think Zone
Alarm may be a red herring and the problem might be lack of disk space
for the indexing to run properly. That's the theory I'm currently
working on, anyway. I got a reply along these lines from the Gmail
team:

"Although installing Google Desktop requires only one gigabyte (Gb) of
space on your hard drive, your personal Google Desktop index may need
up to four additional Gb, in addition to any space that is used by
other programs on your system.

Based on the diagnostic you provided, it's possible that a lack of
space is responsible for the issue you're experiencing. With this in
mind, we recommend freeing up additional space on your hard drive, then
re-indexing."
