[lug] Re: How to save routing table

Hi dears,

Thx for your mails.

I also could dig out the same site
http://www.yolinux.com/TUTORIALS/LinuxTutorialNetworking.html#ROUTE and
tried to do as it explains. No it does not work in Fedora4 as I found.
I don't know whether it works in RedHat. But
http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/FAQ_43_1312.shtm works well in Fedora.
Obviously it must work in RedHat. But, by using
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-eth0 file, it was impossible for
me to add a record to the routing table without a Gateway. I struggled
lot, but failed. If anyone has done it before, may I know how..!

I also don't like to put route commands in /etc/rc.d/rc.local. (Same
file replicates in /etc/ also. ie. /etc/rc.local). Linux must have
provided better way to do this rather than putting it in
/etc/rc.d/rc.local.

"How to save routing table in Linux" is seemed to be not well
documented. Difficult to find descriptive tutorial or artical in the
web. If any one knows good URL, please drop it here.
