Re: Googebot finally crawls BUT use obsolete version of sitemap

I also have noticed that Googlebot has been recrawling links found only

in the first version of my sitemap file. I can see that out of ~80
requests last night, ~10 were for incorrect URLs with junk paths, i.e.
catalog/catalog/ (I used a lame sitemap generator script.)

This sitemap with errors was only up for a day or so before I noticed
this and created my own sitemap tool. Since then there have been weeks
of updates, new sitemaps and resubmitals. Maybe this is normal behavior

on Googlebot's part and has no relationship to Sitemaps other than the
fact that Sitemaps provided googlebot with the links once, and having
crawled them, googlebot has them in a 'recrawl and reanalyze queue.'
