Re: How I got here?
Please post a link to your "usual internet home page" so we can check
to see if it is showing us the same diagnostic. To do that, immediately
after you see (and clear) the alert, copy the contents of the address
bar (where it says something like
"http://www.my.news.paper.com/index.html") and paste it into a reply to
this message in this group. You could also display the favorite link's
properties and copy the content of the URL field into the reply.
Is your home page the front page for the newspaper? Do they have a link
on that page back to themselves - for instance a link on the paper's
logo that takes you to the front page from every page in the paper?
Try clicking there to see if you still get the diagnostic message. If
that page is OK, navigate from there to the page you want as your home
page, and re-save that page as a favorite. (If it doesn't replace the
old favorite, but adds a new one, please remove the old favorite.)
The Google Map API is sensitive the the URL of the served pages. It
tries to be flexible to get around common page naming conventions, but
it is not able to handle all cases. If you saved your favorite bookmark
some time ago, there is a possibility that it does not match the
current URL of the pages closely enough.
Again, if you can post a link to the page where you are getting the
message, we may be able to give you more assistance.
