Re: map jumps to Africa from US?

hmm, it's called debugging.
Ask yourself the question
"Should it be calling a map move there ?" If not try to work out why it
is or ask someone why a certain bit of code might trigger (pasting it
should help)
If it should be executing a map move there, but the variables it is
using are unset then try and find out why.
That's the fun of coding - it's like a mini detective story every day
:P

Off the top of my head if you are using code to replot points when you
move the map using a map move listener you may get unexpected results.
If I click an icon near the edge of the map, the infowindow comes up,
causing the map to move, a while later I see the infowindow redraw.
It's quick but it's there.
My guess is that you have some onmove event getting a little
over-zealous.
I had similar issues on my site, and I set it so that if I knew there
was going to be a map move but I didn't want to refresh, i set a
variable to true. Then just before your redraw routine, check if the
var is true. If it is, reset it to false and don't redraw. If it is
already false, redraw.
