hehe, simple yet effective - I like it :)
Should actually work very well for me on my site as I use manually
pre-defined cluster points (or "bunch points" as I call them) - my
bunch points are heirarchically ordered political regions (country,
state. county, etc...) and each bunch point has a "Zoom Through" link
to show the contents of that cluster which takes you to a predifined
centerandzoom.
So many, many people will be hitting the exact same point and zoom time
and time again.
All the variables are passed to the back end PHP so it should be very
simple to use that url string as the tag.
