You will see an error under those circumstances, but it will be this:
553 feed.txt: Permission denied on server. (Overwrite)
and not what the OP quoted.

What the OP saw was this
452 Error writing file: No space left on device.
which means the ftp server had no disk space to accept the feed.
The first is a temporary error affecting individual feed files, but the
second means ftp upload is unavailable for everyone else as well.
