Being fair, the original poster is asking why his pages aren't
appearing at all; not about ranking.

The answer's probably much the same; that Sitemaps don't necessarily
mean your pages are automatically listed. However, I'm surprised that
none of his pages are listed - that probably points to something nasty
happening on his pages which Google have banned. (Text the same colour
as the background, for example, is one easy way to reduce your page
listings.)
