Re: Truncated URL in Site Overview Query Stats
First of all thank you Sebastian for your reply.
I already have a domain ContactEZ.net and Google Sitemaps works fine
with that URL.
I have also another site hosted by Bellsouth at
http://bellsouthpwp.net/d/g/dgs60/
But is seems that Google Sitemaps does not handle correctly that type
of URLs and does not parse the string
http://bellsouthpwp.net/d/g/dgs60/ correctly as demonstrated in my
first message.
I was wondering if anybody else encountered that type of errors and if
there is a way to bypass that trouble. (I am simply trying to index a
site located on Bellsouth it could be anything else...)
And concerning your statement "What's the purpose of a page buried in
the 4th level of a domain shared by gazillions of hobbyists?"
I understand your point but here is an excerpt from Google:
... Google Sitemaps is an experiment in web crawling. By using Sitemaps
to inform and direct our crawlers, we hope to expand our coverage of
the web and speed up the discovery and addition of pages to our index.
... And so on...
Are hobbyists second-class citizens that are not worth to be indexed?
(Personally I am glad that all the "hobbyists" do not buy a domain
just to be indexed!)
Google's goals is to index sites and pages even if they are owned by
hobbyists no?
My question really pertains in the fact that there is a possible
parsing bug in the logic used to read the URLs for the Site Overview.
