Alternative to GXml?

Group-

I want to create my markers based on lgt and lat data included in an
XML file. Only problem is that the XML file sits on someone else's web
site. For example, the sample XML file provided in Google's API
documentation.

Short of using some sort of server-based scripting solution, how can I
get to this data? GXml, like any XMLHttpRequest will fail because of
the cross-domain aspect of the problem..

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
